How much of your product is actually Canadian?
MapleBOM reveals the Canadian sourcing, foreign sourcing and country-of-origin gaps reported in your bill of materials — and how much of your purchasing nobody can currently account for.
Reported component sourcing is not regulatory Canadian content. A content determination follows specific rules and needs origin evidence, and MapleBOM makes no such determination. What it gives you is the reported starting position, including the share nobody can currently vouch for.
BOM uploads are analyzed transiently in memory and are not retained. How this works
The problem
The number you are asked for and the number you can defend are not the same number.
It is easy to produce a Canadian-content percentage from a spreadsheet. It is hard to produce one you would put your name on, because a meaningful share of the underlying lines have an origin nobody has ever checked. Any figure calculated over those lines inherits their uncertainty without showing it.
An origin column is a claim, not evidence
A country recorded in an ERP usually has no certificate or attestation behind it. That distinction matters the moment somebody audits the number.
Unverified spend distorts the percentage
Every line with unknown origin is a line your content figure is quietly guessing about. MapleBOM sizes that guess in dollars.
Canadian sourcing is not Canadian origin
A Canadian supplier, a Canadian distributor and a Canadian factory are three different things, and only one of them counts.

Before any content figure means anything, you need to know how much of your purchasing it is silently assuming. MapleBOM ranks exactly that, largest first.
In the sample analysis, 480 components have no established country of origin — but 10 supplier conversations would account for 80% of that exposure.

What MapleBOM will not do
Provenance is only useful if it is true. These are the rules the analysis follows, without exception:
- We never infer country of origin from a supplier, manufacturer, distributor or company nationality. Buying a part from a Canadian distributor does not make it Canadian.
- Anything the file does not establish is reported as Unknown / Unverified, with the reason it is unresolved.
- Country values we cannot interpret are surfaced, not silently dropped or guessed.
- V0 makes no CUSMA, tariff, Canadian-content or Buy Canadian determination. Those require rules and evidence this tool does not yet have.
- Facts you supplied, figures we calculated, and information nobody has are labelled separately throughout.

It is early, and deliberately narrow: it reports what your bill of materials establishes, and says plainly what it does not.
